My SUPER Extra Body Care Routine

Body care products are the one area I feel like I can have more fun with, particularly with scent! In my opinion, you should have results but also it should be a luxurious experience. By no means do I use all of these products at once, but being the extra person I am, I like options depending on how my skin is feeling and my mood. Here are some of my current favorites and as I discover new products I will add them to the list!

The Extensive Exfoliant List:

I have quite a few body exfoliant favorites and while they are all physical body scrubs, I enjoy using them for different reasons.

Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish - This is a sugar scrub that I find to be super gentle and I personally LOVE anything coconut and rose-scented.

Kopari Coconut Crush Body Scrub - Again with the coconut, but this scrub is a combination of brown sugar and crushed Tahitian coconut shells. It’s a little more exfoliating but your skin is SO soft. I love using it before shaving for the smoothest shave. But fair warning, it can make your shower a little slippery!

NÉCESSAIRE The Body Exfoliator - I love this exfoliator because it’s a combination of physical and chemical exfoliants. It contains superfine pumice for the physical exfoliant and Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid for the chemical exfoliants. I like to scrub and then leave it on my skin for a few minutes to let the acids do their magic.

CleanLogic Exfoliating Body Gloves - I enjoy a good pair of exfoliating gloves…but THESE are top-notch. I find them to be pretty rough in texture but in a good way! You get a REALLY good exfoliation with these gloves. I prefer to use exfoliating gloves with a gel body wash as my pre-sunless tanner exfoliation prep since it doesn’t leave an oily residue as a sugar scrub does. This ensures your sunless tanner will go on smooth and without an oily residue it allows the tanner to adhere to the skin and work its magic!

Body Washes:

Naturium The Glow Getter Multi Oil Body Wash - First of all, it’s 16.9 ounces, $16 and the packaging was clearly well-thought-out for real-life usage in the shower in mind. It’s a tall slim bottle with a large pump so you don’t have to pick it up and open a flip-top with wet hands. Now the formula, this body wash is truly an experience. When you pump it out it looks like a gel but then when it hits your skin it feels like a luxurious oil that suds ups. Your skin is left with the lightest layer of oil for moisture. I LOVE this body wash.

Billie Creamy-Gel Body Wash - Also, delightful! It’s creamy, suds up nicely, you feel clean and refreshed and never dry. It smells like geranium and citrus. I love using this body wash with the CleanLogic Exfoliating Gloves.

And while we are on the topic of showering…I like to keep a 2oz amber glass spray bottle in the shower filled with 3/4 eucalyptus and 1/4 lavender essential oil. When I get it I will spritz 1-2 sprays in the air in the area I am not standing in. In combination with the steam and heat, it creates a spa-like aromatherapy shower!

Shaving

It’s the Billie Razor and Whipped Shave Cream all the way for me when it comes to shaving products. My legs tend to be on the sensitive side so some razors and shaving creams make my legs burn and itch and I have none of that with the Billie products! It has five blades and they are surrounded by aloe vera. It truly provides the smoothest shave I’ve ever had. And when you add the Whipped Shave Cream it actually makes shaving a pleasant experience. The shave cream comes in lavender & bergamot and grapefruit. And can we talk about how freakin cute the packaging is!?

Body Treatments + Moisturizers

Elemis Frangipani Monoi Body Oil - This product brings me back to the early 2000s working at an Elemis Spa in Las Vegas. We used this product and not only does it smell absolutely amazing it glides on your body and makes your skin super smooth. You can apply it directly to your skin or even add some of it to your bathwater.

OSEA Anti-Aging Body Balm - OMG I love this product. It’s a creamy oil so I find it easy to pump and apply without dripping oil all over your bathroom floor. And it SMELLS LIKE A DREAM.

ALASTIN TransFORm Body Treatment - This product is essentially a body skin serum and pretty unique if you ask me! Alastin created a proprietary blend of peptides called TriHex Technology which helps to remove old, damaged collagen and elastin, and helps to stimulate new, healthy collagen and elastin. Plus, this product contains antioxidants and helps with crepey skin.

Cereve SA Cream For Rough & Bumpy Skin (There is a lighter weight lotion version as well!) - If you struggle with Keratosis Pilaris (aka chicken skin) on the back of your arms or thigh this is a must-have product. And if you prefer to not use a body scrub to exfoliate, this is a really nice 1-2x a week option. It contains salicylic acid which helps to break down the keratin plugs in the skin which is what causes KP. It also has a smoothing effect so your skin looks more even and feels super soft.

Trader Joe’s Coconut Body Butter - It’s $5.49, smells, and feels like coconut deliciousness all over your body. I find it to be super moisturizing and it’s lovey right after I shave.

Hand + Foot Care

Do you need a separate moisturizer for your hands and feet? No, you do not. Do I like them and am I extra? Yes, without a doubt.

Naturopathica Mighty Mint Rescue Cream - I have a whole tray of my favorites on my nightstand and this has minty, tingly cream has been consistent for over a decade.

Trader Joe’s Ultra Moisturizing Hand Cream - I LOVE this hand cream. I have one at my desk, my handbag, one in my kitchen and one in my car. It’s super moisturizing for dry hands without being greasy and it’s only $4.99.

Baby Foot Original Foot Peel - I really wish this came in a full-body version! If you haven’t tried the Baby Foot Peel you are missing out on the most satisfying experience and the softest feet! I like to do this foot peel every few months and what helps it work even better is soaking your feet every day when you shower.
